On the outside pita and grill looks like a sketchy place to say the least. Looks however, can be deceiving. Pita and Grill is nicely decorated with a vast amount of seating for all patrons on the inside. Quite often there is a huge line but the employees move quickly and have you in and out in no time.
Today I ordered a chicken shawarma with fries and extra garlic sauce. The shawarma is fresh and delicious. They really slather on the garlic sauce and I absolutely love it (luckily my boyfriend had it to so garlic breath for both of us). The fries were crispy and hot !! I always order extra garlic sauce to dip my fries in with the ketchup on the table. The food is really well priced in my opinion and everything is halal. With fries for both of us and 2 chicken shawarmas it came up to $20. The employees are also super friendly and helpful! I love this place and it is definitely somewhere you should try if you haven't before! -

Note: Review is for Chicken Souvlaki. Although it wasn't bad, it's probably best to order the more ME dishes here.
This location of Pita & Grill is tucked away in an old part of Cooksville, near where the now torn-down Central Library used to be. It's easier to access the lot if you're traveling Eastbound on Dundas. Otherwise, it can be quite hectic to get in. Small plaza also has a Tim Horton's, so it can get busy!
Menu comprises of Breakfast meals, Burgers, Greek-inspired Souvlaki plates, & Middle Eastern (kabob, shawarma, falafel) sandwiches/plates. Prices seem a bit cheaper than other competitors.
Chicken Souvlaki Dinner was enough for 2ppl! There were 2 large pieces of potato. And both the flavours in the potato/biryani rice was more subtle, not as authentic/strong as an actual Greek place. However, I will say that the Dinner was freshly prepared as there was a bit of a wait. Whereas shawarma/other wraps were prepared right away!
Overall, it wasn't a bad option and it's nearby. As per sign, this place is open on Holidays. I'd come back and try the other Middle Eastern dishes.

Awesome chicken shawarma wrap and chicken shawarma dinner. Chicken is soft and juicy and rightly spiced and marinated. Flavors are not overpowering.
For first time eaters While ordering just tell what stuff you need in wraps do not tell how much - they know it better or just leave it to them. -

Really amazing shawarma - love the fact that they fill it up and it taste great - always enjoy eating here. The place is also very clean and tidy.

Best shawarma in the city hands down. Generous on portions and service. I prefer the chicken over the lamb and beef shawarmas as I found it to be a compliment with the other ingredients. Ask for it to be placed under the grill longer for a nice crunch.
Plate dinners are HUGE. Served on a big plate as well as with pitas, it's quite possible to share it with another person.
Have yet to find something on the menu that is disappointing. Best part is that it's open until late night.
